CDC Advises Pregnant Women to Get Vaccinated
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urgently advised new mothers and expectant women to get fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
According to CNN, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the US, advised expectant, and new mothers to get fully vaccinated.
Per the CDC, 39 percent of pregnant women in the United States have been immunized. Over 160 pregnant women have died as a result of the illness, and thousands more have been hospitalized.
The danger is not limited to the mother. Pregnancy with Covid-19 can result in premature delivery or children born so ill that they must be placed in intensive care. According to the CDC, other unfavorable pregnancy outcomes such as stillbirth, have been recorded.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the CDC, stated during a White House Covid-19 briefing on Tuesday that research suggests Covid-19 vaccinations are safe for pregnant women. Pregnant women are also encouraged to obtain flu vaccinations.
