Khatibzadeh: Occupation Crimes In Palestine Should Be Classified Genocide
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accuses western countries of supporting the Israeli occupation in continuing its aggression against the Palestinian people, calls on the Security Council to pressure the occupation to stop its criminal acts.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that consecrating the rights of the Palestinian people is an international responsibility, stressing that Tehran, the Islamic World, and the free people stand with the Palestinians.
Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh, in a press conference in which he spoke in Arabic, urged for classifying the occupation's crimes in Palestine as genocide and crimes against humanity.
Khatibzadeh called on the security council to "assume its responsibilities to pressure the Zionist entity to stop its criminal acts and wasting the rights of the Palestinian people," warning that the occupation is aiming to destabilize international security to achieve its goals.
He also urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to "stand by the Palestinian people against the Zionist enemy," indicating that consecrating the rights of the Palestinian people is not only an Arabic Islamic matter but rather an international one.
Khatibzadeh stressed that the Israeli aggression is a flagrant violation of human rights and international laws, emphasizing that the only solution is establishing a general and fair referendum for all the people of Palestine.
The spokesman noted that the Palestinian Cause is the first cause of the Islamic world and that supporting the Palestinian people is one of his country's foreign policy priorities, indicating that Tehran has been following up with Islamic countries and regional countries the developments in Palestine since the Israeli aggression against Gaza started.
