Today, Friday, the US Treasury Department announced that the United States had "removed sanctions on three Iranians," explaining that "had nothing to do with talks on restoring the US and Iranian compliance with the 2015 Iran nuclear deal."
It stated that it removed the names of Behzad Ferdows, Mehrzad Ferdows, and Mohammad Reza Dezfulian from the sanctions list, all of whom are linked to the "Mammut" industrial group, against whom secondary sanctions were imposed.
The Iranian government spokesman, Ali Rabiei, said that "the Vienna talks have reached a place where clear political decisions must be taken." He pointed out that "his country previously revived the talks by extending the temporary understanding with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for a period of one month."
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that "we still believe that the agreement in Vienna is possible provided that the United States abandons the failed legacy of former US President Donald Trump," stressing that his country "will not hold endless talks."
On the other hand, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, commenting on a question about his country's withdrawal from the nuclear talks, said that the date of this withdrawal is approaching, adding that "the Iranian authorities' continued development of its nuclear program may soon become an insurmountable obstacle."
