Iran is a bulwark that stops colonizers: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
In a speech on the 40th day since late President Ebrahim Raisi's passing, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah reiterates Iran's strength and influence in the region.
The Islamic Republic of Iran's regime champions all of the region's people and is the bulwark that stops colonizers, Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Thursday.
In a broadcasted speech commemorating the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, 40 days after his passing in a helicopter crash alongside his companions, Sayyed Nasrallah expressed, on behalf of the Resistance in Lebanon, the people of Lebanon, and all Resistance movements, his solidarity, empathy, and condolences to the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian officials, and the families of the departed.
He described the fatal helicopter crash as a "very painful incident", urging "the people of faith to transform threats into opportunities," saying that the Resistance shared Iran's pain since the accident, and followed up with everything since.
Before large crowds of Iranian officials, citizens, party leaders, and Arab ambassadors, in Tehran, Nasrallah affirmed that the "Iranian people proved their calmness, stability, unity, and cohesion, while the enemies lurked and anticipated disruptions in the country."
He also highlighted that the late Iranian President and his companions' procession, which was attended by millions of citizens, represented a "strong message to friends and foes because it showed great loyalty to the Iranian Republic," which proves that Iran can continue preparing for the elections.
According to the Resistance leader, Iran offered a refined model of how to overcome difficulties and achieve victory. He also called on the Iranian people to "wisely choose and elect the suitable president, who is capable of achieving their hopes, because the fate of the people and governments of the region rests on what happens in Iran."
In tragedy, Iran remained 'one family'
On his part, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Ziad Nakhaleh, said that the late President and Foreign Minister [Hossein Amir-Abdollahian] were able to achieve so much for the region over the past few years.
Ebrahim Raisi, according to Nakhaleh, defended Palestine and stayed true to his word.
He further stated that Iran's president and people "clearly and evidently supported Operation Al-Aqsa Flood", and gave thanks to Sayyed Khamenei for his consistent support for the people of Palestine.
Raisi's wife, Jamila Alam al-Huda, also gave a speech, saying Iran proved it was "one family" through the solidarity it showed Sayyed Khamenei during the past 40 days.
She also said that the difference between Western governments and the Iranian government is that the latter exists to serve the people.
Elections help Iran defeat its enemies: Sayyed Ali Khamenei
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Sayyed Ali Khamenei said a high voter turnout in the upcoming Iranian elections, set for June 28, fills Iran with pride and helps the nation defeat its enemies.
Sayyed Khamenei made the comments in a national address before thousands of citizens from several provinces, including Tehran, Gilan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Markazi, and North Khorasan, on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir on Friday.
He said the upcoming elections were considered a test to be taken by the people of Iran, noting they were now "more important than ever."
The leader further expressed hopes that the elections would bring pride to the nation through "maximum participation" and the selection of the most suitable presidential candidate.
He also affirmed that the presidential elections played a significant role in challenging and overcoming the nation's enemies, urging voters to show up in great numbers to the polls and consequently stifle Iran's ill-wishers. According to the leader, a low voter turnout serves as a tool the enemies use to discredit Iran.
