The Israeli occupation army admitted, under the "Permitted for Publication" clause, the death of a soldier during confrontations in the northern Gaza Strip, as Palestinian Resistance fighters continue to engage occupation forces with persistent ground operations and ambushes.

According to the Israeli army, the soldier was a member of the 601st Engineering Battalion. This latest casualty brings the official number of soldiers killed since October 7, 2023, to 857.

However, the actual toll is believed to be higher, as critics believe that the occupation is deliberately concealing the full extent of its losses.

Al-Qassam Brigades ambushes in Beit Lahia

The al-Qassam Brigades announced on Monday that its fighters carried out a complex ambush in the al-Atatra area, west of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

The al-Qassam Brigades stated that its fighters targeted three Israeli military vehicles with two Shawaz explosive devices and a Tandem shell, then engaged another Israeli force in confrontations.

It added that the operation resulted in Israeli casualties, including both killed and wounded, while also reporting the landing of helicopters to evacuate the injured on Friday.

Around a week and a half prior, additional Israeli soldiers were reportedly killed in separate operations by the Palestinian Resistance.

According to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, one soldier was killed at the time during confrontations in the al-Janina neighborhood of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

He was reportedly struck when an RPG hit a building during the clashes. Two other soldiers were injured in the same incident.

In the same area, another soldier from the Golani unit was killed when an explosive device detonated beneath a tank from the 188th Brigade, wounding the entire crew.

Additionally, a Reserve Sergeant First Class was killed in an operational traffic accident near Nahal Oz along the Gaza border.

The soldier was reportedly struck by a truck during an engineering mission. The exact circumstances remain under investigation.

Palestinian Resistance factions continue to carry out ambushes and targeted operations against occupation forces throughout the Gaza Strip.

These operations, often followed by the evacuation of wounded soldiers via helicopters, are reportedly inflicting sustained and growing losses on the Israeli military.
