Israeli media: US betrayed Qatar, gave green light for attack on Hamas

Israeli media and officials continue to affirm Washington's coordination with "Israel" for the attack on Doha.

Israeli political analyst Eddie Cohen asserted that the United States "betrayed Qatar," noting that it gave “Israel” the green light to carry out its attack on the Qatari capital, Doha, in an attempt to assassinate Hamas leadership.

In an interview for the Israeli channel i24NEWS, Cohen emphasized that Washington was complicit in the attack, adding that US President Donald Trump "exploited and deceived the Qataris" through his social media post on the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.

"Trump deceived the Gulf states and took their money," he said, adding that Turkey "is also exploiting the Qataris," as it "did not support Qatar," despite their alliance.

He asked, "Where are the air defenses and the F-15s?"

Cohen’s remarks echo earlier Israeli media reports citing officials who, from the outset of the assault on Doha, stressed that Washington and “Israel” were acting in coordination.

Channel 14 quoted a senior Israeli official as confirming that the United States was informed of the attack before it was carried out and gave “Israel” full support.

Likewise, Channel 12 quoted an Israeli official as saying that Trump "gave the green light for the attack on the Hamas leadership in Qatar."

Citing various sources, the report added that "American and British spy planes roamed over the area before the attack," noting that "Israel must coordinate with the Americans" because they control Qatari airspace.

On its part, Channel 13 wondered whether Trump had engaged in a "disinformation maneuver" in preparation for the Israeli attack on Doha.

"Is what we have seen in recent days a disinformation maneuver, similar to what happened before the war with Iran? Was the plan that Trump brought to the table merely a push for holding this [targeted] meeting, or was it an attempt to put on a show of negotiations?”
