Jordan and the UAE are helping the Israeli occupation to sustain its blockade on Gaza by dropping negligible aid over the Strip's starved population.

Despite previous failures and worldwide condemnations over the inefficiency and danger of airdrops, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, which have made no tangible effort to break the siege on Gaza or end the genocide, in coordination with the Israeli occupation forces, carried out another round of so-called humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip on Monday.

According to the Israeli occupation military engaged in genocide, 20 pallets of aid were airlifted to both northern and southern Gaza. The operation, directed by the Israeli political echelon and supervised by COGAT, is part of what the Israeli military claims is an effort to “improve the humanitarian response.”

However, rights advocates and humanitarian experts argue that these measures are both insufficient and deceptive, offering symbolic relief while allowing the continued siege and destruction of Gaza to persist.

With nearly 60,000 Palestinians killed, vast displacement, and a decimated health system, Gaza’s population faces one of the most dire humanitarian crises in modern history. Airdrops, known for their imprecision and risk to civilians, have failed repeatedly to deliver consistent aid. In many cases, falling pallets have caused injury or death.

Meanwhile, aid has been dropped mainly over zones inaccessible to Palestinians, near Israeli occupation posts, rendering these operations pointless. While the siege continues and land-based aid is restricted, the token airdrops allow the occupation and regional actors to perform a humanitarian role they systematically undermine.

Famine engulfing Gaza

On Sunday, the Government Media Office in Gaza warned that famine in the Gaza Strip is not only ongoing but expanding in scale and severity, as the blockade continues and aid deliveries remain critically insufficient.

According to the statement, only 73 trucks entered Gaza today, while airdrops were carried out in active combat zones, making access to the aid extremely difficult.

The office added that most of the aid was looted under the watch of the Israeli occupation forces, which are deliberately obstructing the delivery of humanitarian supplies to organized distribution centers. This has further escalated the already dire humanitarian situation in the besieged territory.

According to the statement, the three recent airdrops combined did not match even the contents of two aid trucks. The office described the operations as a “farce” in which the international community is complicit through false promises and misleading information.

The statement concluded by stressing that the only real solution is to immediately open all border crossings, lift the blockade, and allow the unhindered entry of food and infant formula. It warned of the severe consequences of continuing this blockade and delaying essential aid.
