Russia: No Progress in "Useful" Talks with America in Moscow
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov says the positions of Moscow and Washington cannot be reconciled.
Russia considered talks that took place on Tuesday between senior Russian and US officials as "useful", although they did not reach any progress.
"Americans do not listen to our logic and our demands," said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
According to Ryabkov, the topic of visas and consular work was discussed, in light of several waves of the expulsion of diplomats.
The US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland was authorized in Russia for only three days to meet with Russian officials, as she is on the list of individuals banned from entering Russia.
Nuland expressed that the aim of the talks would be the restoration of stable relations between the two countries.
Earlier the Russian Foreign Ministry revealed that a proposal in the US Congress to expel 300 Russian diplomats from the US, which could lead to the closure of US diplomatic facilities in Russia.
