On the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, hailed the martyred Resistance leader as a rare historical figure whose legacy continues to inspire the nation and humanity at large.

Sayyed Al-Houthi honored Sayyed Nasrallah as “the martyr of Islam and humanity,” stressing that his presence endures both in the conscience of the nation and in the victories God granted through him.

He asserted that Sayyed Nasrallah was “a safety valve for the region in the face of the New Middle East project,” recalling how the July 2006 victory led to the collapse of the US-Israeli scheme.

“Israel weaker than a spider’s web”

Sayyed Al-Houthi noted that Sayyed Nasrallah’s iconic declaration that “Israel is weaker than a spider’s web” became a permanent source of concern for the Israeli entity. “His voice,” he said, “was an echo of a great work unparalleled in contemporary history,” adding that "his achievements, those of the Resistance, and its environment that nourished the nation, were truly monumental.”

He argued that the crises Lebanon faced after the July victory were the product of forces aligned with the United States, while current events reveal that Israeli aggression targets the entire region. Hezbollah, he stressed, continues to carry the banner of steadfastness and is not alone in its struggle.

“What is happening proves that the option of resistance is the right choice, because it is the only alternative to surrender.”

Arms are a right for deterrence

The Ansar Allah leader rejected calls to disarm Hezbollah, labeling them as pure US-Israeli demands aimed at eliminating all those who challenge their plots of regional domination.

“It is our right to possess any type of deterrent weapon, and that is not the problem; rather, the problem lies in not possessing it,” Sayyed Al-Houthi said.

He criticized the hypocrisy of the international community, pointing out that “most countries have increased their military spending, while we, the nation targeted by the Israeli enemy, are being asked to disarm.”

On Palestine and international hypocrisy

Sayyed Al-Houthi expressed disappointment with recent UN statements that mentioned Palestinian rights and condemned Israeli crimes, but failed to materialize into concrete measures to end the aggression.

He condemned the reception of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the United Nations, saying, “Netanyahu, who boasts of his crimes before the world at the UN, is a disgrace.”

The Ansar Allah leader called for practical steps to confront the occupation, urging “an effective economic and political boycott and the isolation of the Israeli enemy” as the most meaningful response to continued aggression.
