Bezalel Smotrich, the finance minister in the Israeli occupation accused France and other countries of actively working against "Israel," warning that failing to respond to such positions damages the entity’s political standing.
Smotrich criticized what he described as “Israeli silence” in the face of growing international opposition, insisting that this approach was “unacceptable and cannot continue."
Call to impose sovereignty
The minister argued that the occupation must act preemptively by imposing its sovereignty, framing it as a necessary step to counter what he called attempts to create a “terrorist state in the heart of the country.”
Recognition of Palestine gains ground
Several countries—including France, Australia, Britain, Canada, and Belgium—have recently signaled their readiness to recognize a Palestinian state. The push reflects growing international pressure on "Israel" amid its ongoing war on Gaza.
UN advances two-state solution
On Friday, the United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly endorsed a declaration that outlined concrete and time-bound measures toward achieving a two-state solution. The resolution also condemned Israeli attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip.
