Yair Lapid: Greece and Cyprus Alliance is a Strategic Asset
There is currently a three-pronged energy and co-operative partnership between Greece, Cyprus, and "Israel," which the Israeli Foreign Minister describes as a "strategic asset."
The tripartite alliance with Greece and Cyprus is regarded as a "strategic asset" and an essential component of the region's forthcoming change by the Israeli foreign minister, Yair Lapid.
According to Israeli media, Lapid and his Greek and Cypriot counterparts spoke of forming partnerships in the energy sector, working in the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF), and tackling short and long-term issues and scenarios.
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, on his part, said on Sunday that he had discussed with his Israeli and Cypriot counterparts broadening the three nations' energy collaboration to include additional countries.
Dendias stated that he and his Israeli and Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides, addressed "cooperation in electricity, renewable energy and gas sectors, among other topics" during their meeting. He continued, "Our goal today is to define our strategic partnership with other countries. We believe that other countries will join us and share the same values."
The occasion came, according to the Cypriot foreign minister, to notify colleagues of Turkey's continuous provocations and violations against Cyprus, its expansionist objectives, and its alarming behavior.
Greece, "Israel" and Cyprus are among the founding countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum, which was launched in January 2019, which also included Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, and Italy.
The charter of the forum went into effect on March 1st, and France's desire to join as a member was approved, as was the United States' request to join as an observer.
