Yemeni forces claim missile, drone strikes on Israeli targets

Yemen’s military says it launched a hypersonic missile near occupied al-Quds and drone strikes in southern occupied Palestine in support of Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they carried out new missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli occupation sites, describing the action as part of their continued support for the Palestinian people amid the war on Gaza.
In a televised statement, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces said, “In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their brave fighters, and in response to the crimes of genocide and starvation committed by the Zionist enemy against our brothers in Gaza, our missile force carried out a military operation.”
Missile strike near al-Quds
According to Saree, the missile unit launched a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile, equipped with multiple warheads, against what he called “sensitive targets around occupied al-Quds.” He affirmed that the strike was successful, saying it caused “millions of Zionist settlers to flee into shelters.”
Saree added that the drone unit carried out a separate operation using three drones that targeted Ramon Airport and two “vital sites” in the area of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), in southern occupied Palestine. “The operation achieved its goals successfully by the grace of God,” he said.
The Yemeni military spokesperson reaffirmed that operations would continue until the war on Gaza ends and the blockade on the Strip is lifted. “Yemen will continue its supportive operations until the aggression on Gaza is stopped and the siege is lifted,” Saree declared.
Yemen escalates operations against 'Israel'
The Yemeni Armed Forces continue to launch operations targeting "Israel", in support of the Palestinians in Gaza and in response to "Israel" killing the Yemeni prime minister and several ministers in airstrikes on Sanaa.
Israeli Channel 14 confirmed on Monday that an explosion had occurred inside Ramon Airport as a result of a Yemeni drone strike, while witnesses reported that a powerful explosion was heard across the area. Meanwhile, Israeli media clarified that sirens were activated in the vicinity of the airport, noting that the Israeli authorities closed the airspace around the facility.
Israeli media additionally reported that sirens sounded across southern "Israel" following another drone attack by the Yemeni forces, while additional sirens were activated in the southern Negev region over concerns of a potential drone infiltration near the Dimona area and the Rotem industrial zone.
An Israeli media platform reported that this drone was aimed at the Dimona nuclear research center but was intercepted.
Yemen achieves direct hit against Ramon airport
On September 7, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced that their UAV unit conducted a major operation, striking multiple targets. They stated that their drones achieved a direct impact on Ramon Airport in the Negev, bringing air traffic to a halt, in addition to further attacks on various sites in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), Askalan, Isdud, and Yafa.
The Yemeni Armed Forces warned all aviation companies that airports inside the occupied Palestinian territories are unsafe and will be targeted continuously, stressing that they bear no responsibility for any consequences that may result.
The Israeli daily Maariv suggested that the drone strike launched from Yemen on September 7, which hit the arrival hall of Ramon Airport, could carry “serious symbolic and visual repercussions,” emphasizing that its effect lies less in physical damage and more in the significant moral and symbolic weight it places on aviation traffic.
The paper noted that international media might mistakenly report an attack on another Israeli airport, such as Ben Gurion, and that the strike on Ramon Airport could push foreign airlines, including those that had only just resumed flights to “Israel", to reassess their choices.
