A shooting took place in the Jordan Valley and has left five illegal Israeli settlers injured, Israeli media reported on Sunday.

Several gunmen opened fire on a bus in the area.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) said the shooting took place near the settlement of "Hamra", with the Israeli ambulance service saying they were treating two settlers who are in moderate condition.

The Israeli occupation asked its illegal settlers to stay in the homes usurped from the Palestinian people in the area where the shooting took place, and the Israeli KAN broadcaster said the gunmen came in a car and fled the scene.

The vehicle caught on fire during the escape, with two reportedly sustaining injuries from the fire. However, a third gunman fled the scene, accounts have said.

It is noteworthy that Arab affairs commentator Noam Benat had told the Israeli Channel 13, that the Israeli security establishment is aware that "the process of arresting armed men which includes a clash and gunfire exchange has turned into a routine matter, and any arrest operation against wanted individuals will end with the same scenes we saw of the bombing of a house in Nablus in which wanted Palestinian men were barricaded."

Israeli media had pointed out that the arrests in the West Bank, which until recently have been simple, "have become very complicated," adding that "the large media coverage that accompanies them makes the matter difficult for Israel."

The shooting is simply a Palestinian act of resistance in response to the Israeli oppression and aggression against the people of Palestine.

Earlier in the week, local Palestinian media reported that the Israeli occupation army opened fire this afternoon at a Palestinian citizen, allegedly for stabbing an Israeli soldier near the Beit Ainun junction, northeast of Al-Khalil.
