Netanyahu’s moves could further increase Palestinian outrage as 35 Palestinian were killed by the occupation forces so far in 2023.

The new hard-line government’s extremist policies will inflame tensions and accelerate the eruption of a new Intifada that might extend to all Palestinian territories.

Since the formation of the new hard-line Israeli government, the number of Palestinians killed by the occupation forces since the beginning of 2023 has reached 35, including 8 children in the occupied West Bank, amid unprecedented procedures issued by the extremist government.

The occupation’s new government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is widely regarded as the most right-wing in the country’s history, causing serious concern for Palestinians, who fear a deepening of discriminatory policies that could trigger a new Intifada.

Netanyahu has announced plans to change the status quo in Palestinian territories, issuing orders to make it easier for Israeli settlers to get firearms, and easing the orders of opening fires against Palestinians, which in turn poses a real threat to Palestinian civil life. This step was highly welcomed by the Israeli Police Minister, who overly supported the occupation soldiers to kill innocent Palestinians.

Arming the Israeli settlers, besides sending battalions to the occupied West Bank for reinforcement, are new steps that clearly indicate the new government's sinister intentions to collectively punish innocent Palestinians. The policy of demolishing Palestinian houses is another step used by the government to ethnically cleanse Palestinian existence. The new far-right "Israeli" minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, demanded in the cabinet meeting the legalization of seven settlement outposts in the West Bank, and to expand other settlements.

Camp Jenin: The Story of Palestine

“The demolition of Palestinian homes in Jerusalem [Al-Quds] is one step in a series of important steps to impose control over Jerusalem”, Ben Gvir stated. The new policies are considered a blatant breach of human rights and all international norms related to the Palestinian cause, which could destabilize the situation in the Palestinian territories.

Minister of Settlement in the Israeli cabinet, Orit Strook, has called for the demolition of hundreds of Palestinian homes, in a move that reflects escalating Israeli extremism against Palestinians in the occupied territories amid unhindered expansionism.

Human rights organization Adalah, a legal justice center advocating for the rights of Palestinians, recently released an analysis of Netanyahu’s government policies. The rights group concluded that the new Israeli government’s policies would further deepen the oppression of Palestinians in all the territories.

Hundreds of military raids have been carried out in the Palestinian territories, especially Jenin, since January 2023, in which 35 Palestinians were indiscriminately killed by the occupation forces. Different regional and international actors expressed their condemnation of the Israeli raids calling to end of repeated assaults against Palestinian people.

In light of the aggressive Israeli policies, Palestinians find themselves against a real challenge that threatens their existence, which forces them to increase their acts of resistance to confront the new government schemes. Palestinian resistance factions delivered a series of warnings to regional mediators saying that the Palestinian resistance won’t stand idly by regarding what is happening in the Palestinian territories.

The new hard-line government’s extremist policies will inflame tensions and accelerate the eruption of a new Intifada that might extend to all Palestinian territories.
