Emma Watson publishes an Instagram post, expressing her solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Emma Watson, of Harry Potter fame, has decided to voice her solidarity with the people of Palestine in an Instagram post on Monday.
Watson, known for playing Hermione, posted a picture taken from a pro-Palestine protest, with a caption by British-Australian feminist author Sara Ahmed, and with the words "Solidarity is a verb" in the middle.

The post has so far received more than 740,000 likes.
Supporters of the Palestinian cause were elated by the news and cheered her on, while supporters of the Israeli occupation of Palestine, such as Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, went after the star.
Also, former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon used the "antisemite" label to attack Watson, while also attempting to use a Harry Potter reference.
10 points from Gryffindor for being an antisemite.@EmmaWatson pic.twitter.com/Qaqkx36JSg

Danon received backlash from social media activists for his attempt at an attack on Watson.
This is so dehumanizing and a disgusting display of hatred towards Palestinians.

Calling any form of solidarity with Palestinians "antisemitic" is just saying that Palestinians are a lesser people—undeserving of basic dignity and human rights. https://t.co/kSP01LdAp3
No joke, we are at the point where merely posting a vague picture referencing solidarity with Palestinians on Instagram gets you labeled as an antisemite. It’s only Jan 3. May God give me patience for the this year. https://t.co/DsH4K9umtd

If you use the word ‘antisemite’ for someone whose only crime is to use a Palestinian flag, you cheapen antisemitism. And people who cheapen antisemitism are horrible human beings. https://t.co/G2i1yxLq9h
