The Nobel Foundation has withdrawn its invitations to the Russian, Belarusian, and Iranian ambassadors for the annual award ceremony in Stockholm due to "strong reactions" in Sweden.

Earlier, the foundation had announced its intention to invite these ambassadors, but this decision faced opposition in Sweden, with the Prime Minister and several party leaders expressing objections and planning to boycott the event.

To address the controversy, the Nobel Foundation decided to maintain its previous practice of not inviting these specific ambassadors to the Nobel Prize award ceremony in Stockholm, while still extending invitations to them for the ceremony in Oslo.

The organization explained that its aim is to promote the values and messages associated with the Nobel Prize and cited last year's political context, which included peace prizes awarded to individuals allegedly involved in human rights and documenting the war in Ukraine. It is worth noting that the Nobel Award ceremony commemorates the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel, who established the prize in 1895.
