Iran, Russia agree to strengthen cooperation in cinema production
The purpose is to encourage the production of films and joint events and to form a joint working committee tasked with implementing collaborative film projects.
IRNA reported on Wednesday that an agreement was reached today between the Chief Executive Officer of Farabi Cinema Foundation, Seyed Mahdi Javadi, and the chairman of the Russian Filmmakers' Union, Nikita Mikhalkov, to strengthen and expand cooperation in film production in addition to the organization of joint cultural events.
According to the report, the agreement pertains to developing joint scientific and practical research based on archives and museum sources from Russia and Iran. The purpose is to encourage the production of films and joint events and to form a joint working committee tasked with implementing collaborative film projects.
Last month, Mikhalkov told Sputnik that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is anticipating discussions with China to formulate the establishment of a Eurasian film academy and awards ceremony. The well-known Russian director noted that the potential founding members are Russia, Belarus, China, India, and Iran.
