Colombia unveiled a massive Palestine flag on the exterior of the Bogota Congress in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The spectacular display said, "Stop the Genocide," referencing human rights crimes during the horrific Israeli assault in the Gaza Strip.

The number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation reached 38,098, in addition to 87,705 injuries, according to the daily report published by the Health Ministry in Gaza. "Israel" committed three massacres in 24 hours, killing 29 Palestinians and injuring 100 others.

Musicians from Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Panama, and other nations played at the outdoor performance.

Maria José Pizarro Rodriguez, a senator from the governing coalition and Colombia's representative in the negotiations with the ELN guerilla, commented on this very important move. “From the Congress of the Republic of Colombia, we say no to the genocide in Palestine. Institutions are democratic only if they truly defend life and humanity.”

The flag was flown at the "Concierto de la Esperanza: Latino America Solidaria" (Hope Concert: Solidary Latin America), a free music event hosted by the government.

Under the current president, Colombia has shifted its foreign policy to be less supportive of "Israel", becoming a crucial supporter of Palestine. After President Gustavo Petro compared Benajmin Netanyahu's actions to those of Nazi Germany, he severed diplomatic relations with the occupation and dismissed its ambassador.

Colombia ceased purchasing weaponry from "Israel" and exporting coal, further severing relations with the occupation and vowing last month to house and care for hundreds of Palestinian children and families, including medical treatment.

"This is the concert of hope and against genocide in Palestine," Petro posted on social media, accompanied by overhead images of the performance, which took place on Friday night at Bolivar Square in Bogota.
