Thai archaeologist Tanachaya Tiandee is on an excavation mission navigating the ruins of Si Thep, an ancient town dating back between 1,500 to 1,700 years, AFP reported.
However, it was noted that the mission was made hard because many vital clues have been stolen over decades by looters who plundered Thailand's rich historical sites.
"The big picture like the building was discovered, but the artifacts which tell little details are missing, making a lot of stories untold about Si Thep," Tanachaya said.
Tanachaya, a 33-year-old archaeologist, meticulously excavates the ancient stone structures, facing the challenge of piecing together Si Thep's intricate history. At least 20 objects have been stolen from the site over the years, with experts identifying 11 in US museums.
