Russian gas exports to Europe via the TurkStream pipeline increased by 7.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, reaching 8.32 billion cubic meters (bcm), according to calculations by TASS based on data from the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG).
In early March, Russia accused Ukraine of attempting to target a key compressor station along the TurkStream pipeline.

Between January and June 2025, the TurkStream pipeline delivered 8.32 bcm of Russian natural gas to European countries, marking a notable rise from the same period in 2024. The pipeline remains a critical component in Russian gas supply to Southern and Southeastern Europe.
June exports decline amid scheduled maintenance
Despite the overall growth, June saw a significant dip in exports via TurkStream. Monthly deliveries fell by 21% compared to May 2025 and by 4% year-on-year, totaling 1.13 bcm. The decrease aligns with scheduled annual maintenance on the pipeline.
In June, the average daily capacity utilization of TurkStream in the European direction was 37.6 million cubic meters, down 4% compared to June 2024 and 18% lower than in May 2025.
TurkStream remains key route for European deliveries
TurkStream, which runs from Russia through the Black Sea to Turkey, has a total capacity of 31.5 bcm annually. It is currently the only active corridor for Russian gas deliveries to Europe. The pipeline originates from the Russkaya compressor station near Anapa.
TASS previously reported that total supplies via TurkStream surged by 23% in 2024 to 16.7 bcm, including a record 8.6 bcm delivered to Hungary. Overall, Russian pipeline gas exports to Europe grew by 14% in 2024, totaling 32.1 bcm.
In parallel, Russia increased gas supplies to Turkey via its Black Sea pipelines, Blue Stream and TurkStream, by 2.6% in 2024, exceeding 21 bcm.
