It was the most nominated film this year - recording a big win for the Asian-American community.
The 95th annual Oscars ceremony was a major win for the action-comedy-sci-fi film 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' which dominated this year's night by taking home seven awards for best actress, best director, best supporting actor, best supporting actress, best editing, and best original screenplay.
It was the most nominated film this year - recording a big win for the Asian-American community.
Michelle Yeoh, who won best actress for her role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once" is just the second woman of color to win that title after Halle Berry nailed that title back in 2002 for "Monster's Ball'.
With this year's Oscars being a night of festivities for the international filmmaking community as a whole, Netflix’s German war film "All Quiet on the Western Front" snagged home four awards for international feature film, original score, production design, and cinematography.
This was also only the second time Germany wins the best international feature film award since the film "The Lives of Others" in 2006.
India was a shining star at the Oscars
The song Naatu Naatu from 'RRR', an Indian Telugu-language epic action drama film, was given the best original song award and was performed at the Oscars as well. The film's director, SS Rajamouli, told Vanity Fair that he viewed the song to represent a "fight scene" where two freedom fighters bring a British troop to his knees through dance.
The world of Animation scored a victory with "Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio" taking the award for best Animated feature. Pinocchio stands out in the field of animation due to its director Guillermo Del Toro's exuberant talent and use of stop motion - the art and technique in which objects (usually puppets) are manually moved in individually filmed frames.
Moreover, "Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio" focuses on fascist Italy during World War II during Benito Mussolini's era.
Other wins included James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" for Best Visual Effects, Brendan Fraser as lead actor for his role in "The Whale", and costume design went to "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".
