Oscar nominations are out: Three top films favored for the key prize
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces its top nominees for the 95th Oscar awards.
The nominees of the 95th Anniversary Oscars have been announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
According to critics, the contestants with the most favorable chance to win the main award are, not in a particular order, the following three films:
- Avatar: The Way of Water, directed by James Cameron
- Top Gun: Maverick, directed by Joseph Kosinski
- The Fabelmans, directed by Steven Spielber
Despite Avatar and Top Gun harvesting billions of dollars at the box office, while The Fabelmans fell short in that area compared to them, critics highlighted that box office success is not a crucial indicator for the Academy.
In that context, The Fabelmans is a fierce contester for the award, said the critics, explaining that during the film, you won't be able to take your eyes off the screen.
