Peruvian arrested for carrying centuries-old mummy in a bag
The mummy was in the isothermal bag that the man had used to deliver food to people's houses in the past.
Authorities in Peru have seized a mummified human estimated to be between 600 and 800 years old from a former food delivery man who claimed to have stored it for three decades at his house.
In further detail, the mummy was in the isothermal bag that the man had used to deliver food to people's houses in the past.
A government official said, as quoted by AFP, that Julio Cesar Bermejo, 26, will remain in jail as authorities investigate the issue.
Bermejo said, as reported by local media, that the mummy, “Juanita”, was “like my spiritual girlfriend."
In a video that went viral on social media, he stated, “At home, she’s in my room. She sleeps with me. I take care of her.”
The Peruvian National Police found a mummy in a delivery man’s cooler bag Saturday.

Bermejo claims that his father brought the mummy home about 30 years ago.
The pre-Hispanic relic was a “mummified adult male individual, reportedly from the eastern area of Puno," a region in the Peruvian Andes some 1,300 km southeast of Lima, as per the Ministry of Culture.
On Saturday, police discovered the mummy in Bermejo's bag while monitoring a park in Puno, where he had been hanging out with his friends.
