Egypt allows Russia to take part in building El Dabaa NPP's 3rd unit
On June 29, 2022, ENRRA approved a construction license for unit 1 of the project ahead of schedule, allowing concrete pouring for the first reactor to begin.
Egypt's national agency responsible for all regulatory control related to nuclear and radiation activities, the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA), said on Wednesday it issued a permit for the construction of the El Dabaa nuclear power plant with the participation of Russia.
On March 19, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that the construction of the nuclear power plant is being carried out ahead of schedule despite current geopolitical challenges.

"The Governing Council of the Office for Nuclear and Radiological Regulation... approved the issuance of a permit during a meeting on Wednesday, March 29, for the construction of the third unit of the El Dabaa nuclear power plant," the statement said.
On June 29, 2022, ENRRA approved a construction license for unit 1 of the project ahead of schedule, allowing concrete pouring for the first reactor to begin.
It applied for construction licenses for units 3 and 4 on December 30, 2022.
