Axios poll reveals American satisfaction with vaccines
Vaccinated Americans expressed the most satisfaction with the vaccines, but expressed the least satisfaction with their inability to return back to normal life.
In the latest Axios/Ipsos numbers on the Coronavirus Index, Biden's initiatives to deliver COVID-19 tests to those who request to their homes, as well as free N95 masks, gained popularity, as the initiatives received 84% popular support.
However, the unvaccinated as it shows are less likely to request such facilities, according to the survey.
Biden's initiatives, furthermore, also did not contribute much to promoting the vaccine.
The poll also found that vaccinated Americans expressed the most satisfaction with vaccines, but expressed the least satisfaction with their inability to return back to normal life.
In the past month, 13% of US adults reported that they either tested positive or think they contracted COVID-19. This percentage constitutes twice the number reported by the CDC, according to Chris Jackson, Ipsos' senior vice president.
If the coming polls maintain such numbers, this is going to depict the widespreadness of the Omicron variant, and "just how fast it's burned through the country," as Jackson said. "That's like one in eight Americans, over a month."
Cliff Young, president of Ipsos US public affairs, contended that the variant "highlighted the unfulfilled promise of the vaccines," revealing that half of Americans don't expect to go back to their normal lives for more than a year.
44% of poll respondents said that they ordered free tests through the government's online portal. Half of those were vaccinated, whereas 1/5 were not.
46% of the respondents say they trust Biden in providing them with accurate virus information.
81% responded that they're either very satisfied (46%) or mostly satisfied (35%) with the way the vaccine protected them from developing serious illness or dying.
77% are either very (48%) or mostly (29%) satisfied that they've felt no significant side effects from the injections.
72% expressed overall satisfaction with the vaccines protecting them from contracting the virus, but only 27% were in the "very" satisfied camp.
