Biden becomes more unpopular among Americans: Poll
Yahoo News/YouGov poll shows that less than one-fifth of Americans believe that US President Joe Biden should run for a second term in 2024.
Just around 18% of Americans believe US President Joe Biden should seek a second term in 2024, according to a Yahoo News/YouGov poll which was revealed earlier on Wednesday, July 13. This is the lowest number yet with another 64% saying, according to the same poll, that Biden must "bow out."
The poll found that for the first time, more Democrats (41%) disagree with the notion that Biden should seek reelection than do so (35%).
"Since late May, the number of Americans who say Biden should run for reelection has fallen by 7 points; among Democrats, that number has fallen by 8 points," researchers found.
According to research, people in the United States are becoming less and less likely to support either Biden or potential Republican contender Donald Trump.
According to analysts, Biden has a 44% to 43% advantage among registered voters.
Following the Select Committee hearings on January 6, 52% of Americans now think that "Trump committed a crime by trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election," and 54% think that the Justice Department should bring charges against him.
Only 28% of Americans support Trump if he decides to run for president again, while over 60% believe he shouldn't.
Biden has been battered by a growing wave of unhappiness over issues like skyrocketing inflation, recent Supreme Court rulings, gun control, and the right to an abortion under federal law—all of which are indicators that the US is off-course and moving in the wrong direction, according to people polled.
