Several people were killed after a Vancouver car attack disrupted a street festival on Saturday evening, according to local police.
The tragic incident occurred in the Sunset on Fraser neighborhood, near East 41st Avenue and Fraser Street, where members of the Filipino community had gathered to celebrate Lapu Lapu Day.

Vancouver police confirmed that "a number of people have been killed and multiple others are injured," adding that the driver, now in custody, drove a black vehicle erratically before crashing into the crowd. The Vancouver street festival incident unfolded shortly after 8 pm, with thousands reportedly present at the time.
Eyewitness Yoseb Vardeh, a food truck operator, described the chaos: "I got outside my food truck, I looked down the road and there’s just bodies everywhere. He went through the whole block, he went straight down the middle."
Another witness told CTV News that they heard the engine revving moments before the crash.
