Cash App founder's murderer identified, arrested
Investigators say that Nima Momeni stabbed Bob Lee to death after he suspected the Cash App founder of having an "inappropriate" affair with his sister. Momeni will be held in custody without bail until his arraignment on April 25.
Investigators have discovered that the Killer of Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App, was Nima Momeni, who accused Lee of having “inappropriate” affairs with his sister.
Prosecutors charged Momeni, the 38-year-old tech executive, with murder after an eye witness informed police that Mr. Momeni had an argument with Lee the night before the latter was stabbed to death on April 4.
Investigations revealed that the murderer confronted the late Bob Lee over a supposed affair that Lee was having with his sister, Khazar Elyassnia.
Khazar Elyassnia is married to a prominent plastic surgeon, and Momeni who discovered that the two had been in contact, demanded to know if his sister was “doing drugs or anything inappropriate,” according to the prosecutors.
Reports show that Elysassnia texted Lee after he was confronted by her brother saying, “Just wanted to make sure your doing ok" and followed it up with a text that read, "Cause I know my nima came down wayyyyyyy hard on you. And thank you for being such a classy man handling it with class."
Shortly after midnight, Bob Lee went over to Khazar’s apartment, unbeknownst to him that his murderer was waiting patiently for his arrival.
The Cash App founder was found the next morning, unconscious on a San Francisco street. He was then rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his wounds and was declared dead.
According to prosecutors, his murder was a “planned and deliberate attack” as they revealed CCTV footage of the two leaving in Momeni’s BMW half an hour before the murder occurred. The suspect drove Bob Lee out to a pre-set location and stabbed him to death using a kitchen knife, according to the investigators.
Khazar and her husband attended her brother’s first court appearance on Friday, as Momeni remains under custody without bail until his arraignment on April 25.
