Death of 8 people in Oklahoma fire is being treated as homicide
A housefire in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, leaves 8 dead and the Police Department is treating it as a suspected homicide.
A fire in a residence in the US city of Broken Arrow, in the state of Oklahoma, killed eight people, according to the local police department, and the case is being probed as a suspected homicide.
The Broken Arrow Police Department confirmed that there are "8 dead at a house in the 400 block of S Hickory Ave," noting that the "BAPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. It is a complex scene given the state of the house due to the fire damage."

At the same time, the police do not believe there was an immediate threat to the public.
"From our statements with witnesses, it was two adults and six children that lived in the house," Ethan Hutchins, the public information officer with the BAPD, told local reporters, stressing that this was believed to be the first local homicide of 2022.
On Friday, the police promised to convene another press conference about the incident; the timing has not yet been set.
