Deaths in Nigerian Multi-Story Building Collapse Climb to 22 – Media Reports
Many are feared trapped under rubble at the site in Lagos.
The death toll from the collapse of a luxury apartment building in Lagos, Nigeria, has risen to 22 after more bodies were pulled from beneath the rubble overnight, according to media reports.
The 21-story building in Lagos' affluent Ikoyi neighborhood collapsed on Monday, killing at least 20 people and trapping many more.

According to the national daily Vanguard, the Lagos state emergency management agency reported that rescuers had recovered two more bodies from under the debris by Wednesday morning.
Obafemi Hamzat, the state deputy governor, stated that the building was closed from June to November due to construction flaws.
Simultaneously, the head of the state-building control agency has been removed from his position.
