Italian nurse arrested for receiving money, faking vaccine injections
An Italian nurse was arrested for pretending to give anti-vaxxers fake vaccines so they can receive official health certificates to access public spaces.
Between lockdown restrictions, health passes and anti-vaxxers, someone was bound to try to use the pandemic to turn a nice profit.
Italian police arrested a nurse in Palermo, Sicily, who was pretending to give Covid vaccines to anti-vaxxers who wanted to benefit from official health certificates so that they can travel and go into public spaces.
The 58-year-old woman, who was working at a vaccination center in Palermo, was recorded in a hidden camera set up by police. She would first get the vaccine, empty the syringe in a tissue, and then pretend to jab the anti-vaxxers with it in their arms.

She was arrested on charges of forgery and embezzlement, but she wasn't the first to try to use this situation to make some money on the side. Dozens of health workers and at least three doctors were also charged for administering fake jabs in recent months.
Wondering how much it pays? Apparently €400 for each jab.
Nonetheless, her demise was not brought by her negligence but rather by a coworker caring about public health safety and subsequently turning her in.
Another nurse from the same hospital in the city was arrested on 21 December for doing the same thing. The woman plead guilty and collaborated with authorities by revealing the details of the scam and the names of her accomplices.
