Italian police transport kidneys to donor patients in Lamborghini
The kidneys were transported from Padua to Modena then Rome.
Italian police used a specially adapted Lamborghini supercar to deliver 2 kidneys to donor patients on Tuesday, hundreds of kilometers apart.
"Travelling on the motorway to deliver the most beautiful Christmas present: life," the police said in a statement on social media. "Thanks to the State Police's special Father Christmas, two people have received the gift of a kidney."
The kidneys were transported from Padua to Modena then Rome.
The Lamborghini Huracan has a top speed of 300 km/h, and the supercar ability to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. This car was a gift to the police by the company itself in 2017.
The car is used for normal police operations - such as patrolling the highway in Bologna, and the urgent transport of blood and organs.
