Kalashnikov Concern Presents New Updates to Increase Accuracy
Kalashnikov Concern is updating its assault rifles, the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta says.
Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported that the Kalashnikov Concern had modernized one of its assault rifles by providing it with a special device that enhances the accuracy of fire to approximately 1.5 times more.
The newspaper pointed out that a group of military personnel received the modernized AK-74M Kalashnikov assault rifles for use and experiment.
The first public presentation of the AK-74M with the new 'Kit' was held on May 9, 2015.
According to the chief designer of the Kalashnikov Concern, Sergei Urzhumtsev, the modernized AK-74M can be adjusted for any tactical task.
The rifle now has a glass-filled polyamide forend, a flashlight, a laser designator, and other compatible equipment. The AK-74M with the Kit is 1.3 times more accurate than the base product in terms of firing accuracy, according to Vadim Astafiev Colonel, head of the press service of the Southern Military District.
