Turks returned to the polls on Sunday to decide whether President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will extend his rule or will be unseated by his opponent Kemal Kilicdaroglu who promised to "restore a more democratic society" in Turkey.

The voters added an unexpected surprising, odd, and bizarre vibe to the much-heated elections. Here's a walkthrough of today's elections.

One of the Turkish voters cast his vote while wearing traditional Ottoman clothing and carrying his plumaged South American macaw to the ballot box in Istanbul.

Another woman, also in Istanbul, walked her pet sheep into the polling room where she collected her ballot papers and cast her vote.

In Bursa, a newlywed couple in a wedding dress and suit cast their votes in the elections.

A remarkable scene also went viral on social media, as a Turkish couple participated in the elections in Caucasian attire. The couple wore a mixture of green and white and caught the attention of the media and voters around the polling stations.

Meanwhile, social media activists were left enraged after seeing videos of people arriving at the polling stations with ambulances, considering it an abuse to get votes.

It is worth noting that polls opened at 8 am local time, and the process ends at 5 pm local time, while results are expected to be announced a few hours after polls close.
