The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) reported, on Thursday, that there are multiple deaths with multiple scenes involved in the Nebraska town of Laurel. Local witnesses said they saw substantial numbers of law enforcement forces throughout the town.

The Nebraska State Police are expected to update the public following an incident in which multiple fatalities were reported on Thursday, August 4, after witnesses said they saw or heard an early morning explosion, as reported by Reuters.
According to a representative of Laurel City Hall, the Cedar County Sheriff's Office directed them to go into lockdown mode. A reporter on the site said that cones have closed off a portion of West 3rd Street.
The NSP said they are looking into the fatalities right now. The organization will host a news conference in a nearby church on Thursday at 3:30 pm.
