Police shoot dead two armed 'terrorists' outside Istanbul court
Turkish police respond to a 'terrorist' organization's attack outside Istanbul's main courthouse, resulting in the death of the two perpetrators.
Local Turkish media outlets reported a devastating armed attack on Tuesday targeting a court in Istanbul, Turkey, resulting in casualties and injuries, including among officers.
A Turkish agency reported, quoting Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya as saying that the armed attack on the “Caglayan Palace of Justice” of the Istanbul Court resulted in the injury of five people, including three police officers, adding that the two perpetrators of the attack, a man and a woman, were killed.
"While the terrorists who attempted to attack were neutralized, six people, including three police officers and three citizens, were injured," Yerlikaya said in a social media statement.

The Minister of the Interior added that a security cordon had been imposed around the court to find out if others were accompanying the perpetrators of the attack and that preliminary investigations had been initiated to find out the motives of the perpetrators of the attack on the Istanbul court.
He also added that the assailants were members of the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) -- a fringe leftist group that has staged periodic attacks in Turkey since the 1980s.
On January 28, Yerlikaya announced that two masked assailants launched an armed attack on the Santa Maria church in Istanbul's Sariyer district during a religious ceremony, resulting in the death of one individual.
The attack, which ISIS assumed responsibility for, took place at approximately 11:40 local time as worshippers gathered for a Sunday service. The perpetrators, armed and wearing masks, quickly fled the scene after the assault.
