Shootings, explosion in Kabul foreigner residence building
Kabul is shaken by an explosion that targeted a foreigners' residence housing Chinese and other nationals, sources revealed.
Armed men on Monday opened fire inside a building in central Kabul that housed some foreigners, two Taliban sources told Reuters.

"It was a very loud explosion and then there was a lot of gunfire," a witness told AFP, while local media also reported similar details.

Residents of the Shahr-e-Naw area in central Kabul said shootings continued in the area after a powerful explosion. They said the attack was carried out at a hotel where Chinese and other foreigners usually stay.
A spokesperson for Afghanistan's Interior Ministry did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
