The actors
Spider-Man: No Way Home, featuring Tom Holland, deals with the multiverse and will involve performers from prior Spider-Man film franchises. Alfred Molina, who portrayed Doctor Octopus in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 2, appears in the trailer, while Jamie Foxx, who played Electro in Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is also on the call-sheet for Marvel Studios' upcoming Spider-Man film. Benedict Cumberbatch also appears as Doctor Strange in the movie directed by Jon Watts, which hits theaters on December 17.
"No Way Home" is perhaps the most vital film on Sony's slate, with fans begging online for months for information on the project. It is noteworthy that the preceding film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, is Sony's highest-grossing film ever, generating $1.132 billion worldwide.
Spoiler alert: What's after revealing Peter Parker's secret identity
In "Far From Home", Peter Parker's secret identity was revealed to the world by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), among other not-so-great claims. After facing a lot of trouble in this regard, he decides to seek the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to turn time so that he can fix everything and keep Spider-Man's identity undercover.
"When Mysterio disclosed my identity, it messed me my entire existence," Peter adds. "Would you be able to fix it such that he never did?"
