Typhoon Khanun caused significant damage in Japan's southern region, resulting in the death of at least two people and injuring 64 others, as reported by Japanese media on Thursday.
A 90-year-old man lost his life when a garage roof collapsed on him, and an 89-year-old woman died in a fire caused by candles during a blackout.

Ferries, ships, and bus services were also halted due to adverse weather conditions. The typhoon heavily impacted Okinawa and Kagoshima prefectures, and it is forecasted to approach Kyushu and Shikoku Islands over the weekend, followed by Wakayama Prefecture on Honshu, Japan's main island.
