Shootings in Idaho, Virginia leave 7 dead
Local police reported that the investigation is still ongoing.
Four students were discovered dead in their home near the University of Idaho in the city of Moscow, Idaho, police reported.
"Moscow Police Officers responded to a call on King Road for an unconscious individual. Upon arrival, officers discovered four individuals who were deceased," as per a police statement.
According to the police, the culprit has not yet been apprehended. The authorities, however, stated that there was no threat to local neighbors.
The deaths are being investigated as homicides. Police affirmed that the investigation is still going on.
Late Sunday night, another heinous murder occurred in the US city of Charlottesville. A shooting at the University of Virginia left three people dead and injured two more. The suspect was identified as Christopher Darnell Jones, who was confirmed to be a student at the educational institution.
It is worth noting that firearm sales soared to record levels between 2020 and 2021, matching up to the increase in victims and shootings the country is grappling with today. There are over 45,000 deaths from gun violence each year in the United States.
