Cristiano Piquet, a paraglider pilot from South Florida, was out for a Sunday trip when he noticed a woman clinging to her drowned vehicle in a canal.

Piquet was flying near Homestead when he noticed a woman clinging to her automobile, submerged with water in a canal.

The paraglider was recording his flight, catching the rescue on video. He landed fast and raced to her rescue. He then sought assistance from a neighboring resident, who can be seen in the video using ropes to lift the woman to safety.

Piquet believes he was fortunate to have been paragliding that day since his aerial view of the wreck saved the woman's life.
