'Israel' achieved total shame instead of total victory: Lieberman
Criticizing the occupation government's handling of the war, Avigdor Liberman says "Israel" has lost in Gaza and on the northern front.
The leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party, Avigdor Lieberman, stressed that after eight months of war, "we ["Israel"] have garnered total shame instead of total victory."
In a statement criticizing the governmental conduct throughout the war, Liberman noted that "Israel's government lost the north, and continues yielding to Hezbollah, which has been doing what it wants."
He also added that after eight months of war, the occupation government has failed to remove Hamas and retrieve the captives from Gaza.
In a related context, Israeli Reserve Major General and military analyst Yitzhak Brik the Israeli occupation forces will be met with failure in their war with Hamas, and they will certainly meet the same fate in a war against Hezbollah, in an op-ed for the Jerusalem Post.
Brik stressed that the IOF couldn't beat either Resistance faction, not because they do not seek victory, but simply because they can not emerge victorious, citing the "small and weak" army that has "no surplus of forces."
"Every day the war continues, our situation worsens," he said, decrying that both the IOF and the Israeli occupation in and of itself were heading toward internal collapse.
Brik had no one else but the war cabinet to blame for this, seeing as they are responsible for the management of the Israeli entity at such times, condemning the body by saying that its members had "only one daily goal", which was to continue the war no matter the cost so long as it safeguards their political positions.
