'Israel' assassinated Mousavi out of its impotence: Vahidi - Exclusive
Speaking to Al Mayadeen, Iran's Minister of Interior confirms that Seyyed Razi Mousavi, assassinated in Syria by "Israel" a few days ago, was on an official mission.
Iran's Minister of Interior, Ahmad Vahidi, confirmed to Al Mayadeen that IRGC military advisor Brigadier General Seyyed Razi Mousavi, who was assassinated by an Israeli airstrike on Syria a couple of days ago, was on an official mission and was brutally targeted in broad daylight.
Vahidi considered that "Israel's" assassination of martyr Mousavi is the result of the desperation and impotence that it is experiencing, highlighting the Israeli occupation's disregard for any international laws or ethical principles.
The Iranian Minister affirmed that the assassination of Iranian advisors in Syria will never weaken the strength of the Resistance in the region, but will, in fact, contribute to its reinforcement. He said that "Israel" is now on the path of decline and is acting in an insane manner, accelerating its collapse.
Vahidi stressed that "the blood of Palestinian martyrs and the blood of martyr Razi will undoubtedly uproot the [Israeli] occupation entity," adding that the path that martyr Mousavi treaded will persist, the way the path of General Qassem Soleimani continued after his martyrdom.
In the same context, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian underlined that the assassination of Mousavi will not deter Iran from achieving its goal of ensuring regional security; instead, it will increase its determination to accomplish it.
"Do not doubt that the path of this martyr will continue," he said.
On the sidelines of a commemoration ceremony held for the martyr in Tehran on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian affirmed that the martyr "worked honestly and sincerely to ensure the maximum national security of Iran and that of the region in the fight against terrorism."
The top Iranian diplomat reiterated that the Israelis assassinated Seyyed Mousavi "out of anger at their political, military and security failures," adding that "this issue has been recorded in the world and all military strategists highlight it."
The Iranian Foreign Minister indicated that during more than 80 days, the Zionist entity suffered two losses; the first was on October 7, when "Israel" collapsed in every sense of the word politically and security-wise, while the second defeat was on the battlefield against the Palestinian Resistance.
The IRGC mentioned that Seyyed Mousavi was responsible for supporting the Resistance front in Syria, vowing that the Israeli occupation will pay the price for this crime.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Tehran noted that martyr Mousavi was one of the prominent leaders of al-Quds Force in Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps assigned to the Syrian file, emphasizing that he had survived several assassination attempts by the Israeli occupation in recent years.
