In a critical assessment, Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, has raised doubts regarding the credibility of the explanations given by the Israeli military regarding Gaza's al-Rashid Street Massacre.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz remarked that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent vows for a "total victory" in the war on Gaza appear hollower than ever.

The newspaper discussed the Flour Massacre on Gaza's al-Rashid Street on Thursday, perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces. It observed that the aftermath might influence the ongoing negotiations for an agreement, suggesting it could heighten tensions in various arenas, from Washington to Riyadh. This reinforces the notion that "Netanyahu is not accurately interpreting the situation," as per Haaretz.

While the Israeli military claimed that "the majority of the casualties and injuries occurred due to overcrowding" and "only a few injuries were a result of the soldiers' gunfire," Haaretz expressed doubts about the credibility of the Israeli military's pretexts.

The newspaper also highlighted that the distressing scenes from the massacre are consistent with the figures reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health regarding the number of Palestinian victims in the Gaza Strip. It underscored that internationally, "Israel" is perceived as the primary side responsible for this massacre.

The current threat is more significant as the situation in Gaza becomes increasingly chaotic and desperate, particularly as Ramadan approaches, as per the newspaper.

It also emphasized that yesterday's atrocity, referring to Gaza's al-Rashid Street, has the potential to heighten tensions in other regions, including the occupied West Bank. This influence could extend further to various Islamic and Arab nations, which already accuse "Israel" of slaughtering Palestinian civilians, as per the newspaper.

'Deep indignation at the images coming from Gaza'

Earlier today, French President Emmanuel Macron strongly criticized the Israeli military on Friday for opening fire on hundreds of Palestinians waiting for food aid, as the besieged enclave faces a deliberate and unprecedented famine.

"Deep indignation at the images coming from Gaza where civilians have been targeted by Israeli soldiers. I express my strongest condemnation of these shootings and call for truth, justice, and respect for international law," Macron said in a post on X.

The French leader labeled the situation in Gaza as "terrible" and called for the protection of civilians.

"A ceasefire must be implemented immediately to allow humanitarian aid to be distributed," Macron added.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, at least 114 Palestinians were killed and more than 760 others have been wounded by Israeli occupation forces in the massacre on Thursday.
