'Israel' kills 100+ civilians in Bekaa in 2 days, strikes Army outpost

Israeli aggression in the city of Saida killed three Lebanese nationals and injured Army personnel and UNIFIL troops.

The Lebanese Army command announced that an Israeli attack targeted a vehicle traveling through the Awali checkpoint toward Saida city, martyring three citizens. 

Not only did the attack kill the civilians but it also injured three Lebanese Army soldiers serving at the checkpoint and four Malaysian United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeepers. 

UNIFIL vehicles were passing through the Awali checkpoint at the time when the vehicle was targeted by the Israeli occupation forces, the Lebanese Army added.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) said that the UNIFIL troops were dealt minor injuries and were treated by emergency services on the spot by the Lebanese Red Cross. The UNIFIL peacekeepers then made their way to their outposts in southern Lebanon. 

Moreover, reports indicate that the peacekeepers had only arrived in Lebanon recently and were passing through the checkpoint in northern Saida, which leads to their designated outposts before a car stationed near them was bombed by Israeli aircraft.

Lebanese Ministry of Health updates death toll

On Thursday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health released the latest death toll caused by the Israeli aggression on Lebanon. According to a statement, 3,102 people have been martyred while 13,819 others were injured due to Israeli strikes and attacks on the country. 

On Wednesday alone, 52 people were martyred and 161 others were wounded. 

In further details, the ministry said that 212 attacks against emergency workers, 64 attacks against hospitals, 86 attacks against health and emergency facilities, and 244 against ambulances and other health and emergency-related vehicles were recorded since the start of the Israeli aggression. 

This also includes deliberate attacks that killed 179 health and emergency workers and injured 306 others.

Casualties from the Israeli aggression on Lebanon on Wednesday were distributed as follows:

  • Three injured in Mount Lebanon governorate. 
  • 36 martyred and 67 injured in Baalbek-Hermel governorate. 
  • 13 martyred and 21 injured in the Bekaa governorate.
  • Three martyrs and 47 injured in the al-Nabatiyeh governorate.
  • 23 injured in the South governorate. 

Initial reports indicate that 60 people were martyred and another 63 were injured in Israeli air strikes that targeted the Bekaa on Thursday, as reported by an Al Mayadeen correspondent.
