'Israel' launches new brazen aggression on southern, eastern Lebanon

Israeli occupation forces renewed their aggression on Lebanon on Saturday with a series of airstrikes, targeting areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, in a continued violation of the ceasefire agreement.
According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent, a series of strikes hit highland areas surrounding the towns of Tarayya and Shmestar in the Bekaa region, eastern Lebanon.

In the south, Al Mayadeen's correspondent stated that Israeli warplanes carried out raids on the Jabal al-Rafee area, the outskirts of the town of Sojod, and the al-Naqra valley near the town of Kfar Hamam.

According to our correspondent, airstrikes also targeted wooded highlands in Iqlim al-Tuffah, al-Jarmaq, al-Mahmoudiya, and Kfar Hamam in successive waves. The al-Jabbour area also came under Israeli attacks.
Concurrently, Israeli media reported that its Air Force was conducting a wave of airstrikes in the Bekaa and Nabatieh regions.
Earlier casualties
Earlier in the day, one person was killed in an Israeli strike on the town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya in the Nabatieh district, following an attack on his car.
Furthermore, Lebanon's Ministry of Health reported that five civilians were wounded in the town of Shaqra, Bint Jbeil district, by a sonic bomb dropped by an Israeli drone.
Our correspondent in the south had reported this morning that "drones were flying at low altitudes over most of the southern regions."
On Friday night, one person was also killed after a car was targeted in an Israeli airstrike on the outskirts of the town of Froun in the south.
These latest strikes are part of a continuing pattern of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, constituting a breach of the ceasefire agreement that was reached on November 27, 2024.
On November 19, Israeli occupation forces reportedly issued evacuation warnings to residents of the southern Lebanese villages of Ainatha and Tayr Felsay, as well as earlier ones for Shhour and Deir Kifa, before carrying out a series of strikes targeting civilian homes, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondents on the ground.
Additionally, earlier in the day, an Israeli drone launched two missiles targeting a car in at-Tiri, in South Lebanon, while a bus transporting students was just behind it. The strike killed a passenger in the targeted car, and the blast caused damage to the bus and wounded the students and the bus driver.
Spiral of continuous aggression
Over the past few days alone, Israeli forces have carried out a series of attacks across southern and eastern Lebanon.
On November 18, an Israeli attack struck the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Saida, Lebanon, leaving 14 civilians dead and marking a severe escalation of tensions while representing a blatant breach of the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024.
Earlier in the day, the Lebanese Health Ministry announced that one civilian was martyred in an Israeli drone strike that targeted his vehicle in the town of Blida, located in the Marj'youn Governorate in South Lebanon.
On the same day, an Israeli drone also targeted a vehicle in the city of Bint Jbeil by launching two missiles at the car, killing one citizen.
On November 17, the principal of the Mansouri Public School, Mohammad Shuweikh, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Mansouri in the Tyre district, South Lebanon, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent.
An Israeli Merkava tank fired on UNIFIL personnel near an Israeli-built position inside Lebanese territory, the UN's peacekeeping force in Lebanon reported on November 16.
