"Israel" has lost the international legitimacy it had enjoyed for continuing its war on Gaza, which undermines its ability to defend itself and harms the political umbrella providing it with the cover needed as well, Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Sunday.
In the same context, Israeli media reported that, over the past hours, there has been a global outcry condemning Israeli soldiers over the killing of more than 30 Gaza residents at an aid distribution center.
Maariv reports on fears the world may turn against ‘Israel’
Meanwhile, Maariv reflected on a "genuine fear that scenes of famine and chaos coming out of Gaza could spark a global uprising against Israel," especially amid rising international calls to end the war.
According to the newspaper, several countries, including Germany, the UK, France, and Spain, have begun openly demanding an end to the military operation, with some going as far as pushing for the imposition of sanctions on "Israel".
So far, according to the newspaper, "the main shield protecting Tel Aviv remains the US administration, which continues to provide political cover and military support for the operation."
The Israeli war on Gaza has been ravaging the Strip for over 600 days now, resulting in tens of thousands of martyrs and injured civilians. International pressure on Tel Aviv has increased as the humanitarian crisis and famine in the Strip worsen, prompting Western countries to call for an immediate ceasefire. Meanwhile, the US administration under President Donald Trump continues to support the genocidal war.
