Detainee deaths rise
On December 1st, Palestinian rights groups announced the deaths of two Gaza detainees, Mohammad Abdul-Rahman Huwaishal Idris (35) and Muath Khaled Mohammad Rayan (31), bringing the total number of martyrs from the Captive Movement to 47 since the war on Gaza began.
Idris, who had no known health issues, died in Ofer Prison, while paralyzed detainee Rayan's death was confirmed by Israeli authorities without disclosing the location. The statement also noted earlier deaths of Munir and Yassin al-Faqawi, a father and son, amid accusations that Israel is concealing other detainee deaths.
Rights groups condemned the systematic abuse of Palestinian detainees, including torture, medical neglect, and other violations, and called for international action to address the humanitarian crisis.
