The Israeli occupation carried out an aggression against Beirut’s southern suburb on Thursday evening, escalating tensions in the Lebanese capital.

According to Israeli Channel 14, "Israel's" attack is in coordination with the United States.

As of this moment, the Israeli occupation has carried out eight airstrikes targeting residential buildings in Beirut’s southern suburb.

A security source told Al Mayadeen that the Lebanese Army, in coordination with the committee supervising the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, entered the buildings threatened by Israeli occupation forces. Despite this coordination, the source added, the Israeli forces ignored the process and went ahead with their assault on Beirut’s southern suburb.

The Israeli occupation issued direct threats Thursday night against multiple residential buildings in the southern suburb of Beirut, warning of imminent strikes on areas including Hadath, Haret Hreik, and Burj al-Barajneh.

In the wake of the threats, severe traffic congestion was reported throughout the southern suburb, with residents attempting to evacuate the targeted zones.

Shortly after the warnings, the Israeli occupation launched two preliminary strikes on the Al-Qaim area within the southern suburb, hitting the buildings marked in the Haret Hreik and Burj al-Brajneh areas.

The Israeli strikes, Israeli Channel 14 said, which are targeting the Lebanese capital, are carried out in coordination with the United States.
