'Israel's' assault on detainees will not weaken their resolve: Hamas
Hamas' warning comes after a released prisoner from Gilboa Prison detailed the horrifying torture and abuse inflicted on Palestinian detainee Ibrahim Hamed.
Hamas warned that the Israeli prison administration's escalation of its aggressive policies against prisoners and detainees "will result in further explosions in the face of the occupation."
In a statement issued following circulating reports of abuse and torture in Israeli prisons, the Palestinian Resistance group made it clear that the systematic assault on prisoners and detainees "will not weaken their resolve," reiterating that the Resistance is committed to their liberation.
It pointed out that the reported abuse and torture of prisoners and detainees indicate that the Israeli occupation government adopts a policy of deliberate attacks against them, motivated by punishment and revenge.
Hamas emphasized that the Palestinian people "will not leave their prisoners and detainees to fall victim to the brutality of the Nazi-like occupation," stressing that the Resistance remains committed to achieving their imminent freedom.
The movement called on the masses of the Palestinian people, their factions, and youths to boost their revolutionary and resistant actions in support of the prisoners by all means.
Elsewhere, Hamas warned the "fascist Israeli government" against continuing with its criminal policy and held it fully responsible for the well-being of every prisoner and detainee.
On Thursday, the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission (PAC) and the Palestine Prisoners Society (PPS) held the Israeli occupation prison administration fully responsible for the well-being of prisoner Ibrahim Hamed, 59, from the town of Silwad near Ramallah.
The warning came after a released prisoner from Gilboa Prison detailed the horrifying torture and abuse inflicted on Hamed.
In a joint statement, the PAC and the PPS emphasized that the gruesome details of the torture inflicted on Hamed are among many other testimonies they documented from prisoners recently released from occupation prisoners, which reflects an unprecedented level of brutality that has caused the martyrdom of at least 18 Palestinian prisoners and detainees from Gaza whom "Israel" refuses to disclose their identities.
Released prisoner Adib Samoudi revealed that Hamed was assaulted on Wednesday in Gilboa Prison, emphasizing that there is not a part of his body without bruises, scratches, or wounds.
Hamed was bleeding heavily from his head and could not stand on his feet, Samoudi highlighted, adding that the prisoner's health condition was very serious.
He added that the prisoner's condition is indescribable, adding that his life and the lives of other detainees are at serious risk due to the brutal beating they are being subjected to in Gilboa Prison.
Hamed began his acts of resistance against Israeli occupation forces at an early age. He was detained in 2006 and received 54 life sentences, the second-highest sentence in the history of the Captive Movement.
Israeli occupation forces pursued Hamed for eight years, during which his family faced all kinds of persecution and threats, with all members of his family, including his wife and children, being also detained at the time.
The Israeli occupation prison administration placed Hamed in solitary confinement for about eight years, including seven continuously.
This comes as the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission (PAC) and the Palestine Prisoners Society (PPS) announced earlier on Friday that the number of Palestinians detained by Israeli occupation forces since October 7 has risen to more than 8,600, most of whom have been put in administrative detention.
